SFXAA Summer Programs

AMDG Baseball Club

What is the AMDG Baseball Club?

The AMDG Baseball Club is a new program of SFXAA intended to provide a competitive environment for players preparing for High School Baseball.

What age groups will the program focus on?

The program will primarily participate in USSSA club tournaments and will focus on the following age groups.  Although our intention is to have a team for each age group the quality and number of players in each age group will determine if we field a team for the respective season.  Our goal is to set a minimum talent level of AAA in order to form a team.   Additionally, younger players may be asked play up an age group if their skill  level warrants it.

·         10U (4th Grade) 5/1/09 - 4/30/10 (Birth Range)

·         11U (5th Grade) 5/1/08 - 4/30/09 (Birth Range)

·         12U (6th Grade) 5/1/07 - 4/30/08 (Birth Range)

Depending on player numbers and quality mix, the older divisions may be merged into a 13U/14U team playing in the 14U bracket.  Both older divisions will be given high school staff exposure and evaluation.

·         13U (7th Grade) 5/1/06 - 4/30/07 (Birth Range)

·         14U (8th Grade) 5/1/05 - 4/30/06 (Birth Range)

This division is open to players of any club who will play as a loaner player from their existing club in limited showcase tournaments or games in the Fall & Spring.  These games will be attended by high school baseball staff for evaluation purposes.  GAMES ONLY, NO PRACTICE, LIMITED SCHEDULE, INVITATION ONLY

·         14U ELITE SHOWCASE

Who will coach the teams?

Parent Volunteers

The younger divisions 10U, 11U & 12U will have the option of being coached by a parent but will have to have a strong baseball background and prior coaching experience to be considered a qualified coach.  This division will also have the option of hiring a professional coach as well.  All coaches (Hired or Volunteer) will need to be approved by the Director of Baseball.

Paid Professional Coaches

Divisions 13U & 14U will have paid professional coaches.

Where will teams Practice?

The home complex will be SFXAA but will also utilize other larger practice facilities when available (Brophy College Prep & Sunny Slope HS) for the older 13U & 14U teams.
